The book,65+.The Best Years of Your Life, draws on the lessons of history. Since the time of the ancient philosophers, Plato and Aristotle among many, the human race has questioned and written about what makes us happy. This questioning has extended to the present day positive psychologists, a discipline only a few years old, with many writers in between. Their findings have been documented, supplemented by the responses of over 150 present day people who are over 65. Their question was whether they prefer life now to before 65. And what are the reasons behind their preferences. A final chapter draws together and compares all the findings.  The book also asks, and answers, what is the role of governments and  our social institutions in bringing about this happiness.
